Max-Weber-Institut Degree programme
The Department of Sociology and its degree programmes at Heidelberg University are part of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.
The Bachelor’s degree programme in Sociology has been in place since the 2006/2007 winter semester and is a consecutive full-time programme with a standard duration of 6 semesters. The number of credits to be earned is 180 for the 100% major and 35 for the 25% minor.
The Master’s degree programme in Sociology has been in existence since the 2009/2010 winter semester and is a consecutive full-time programme with a standard duration of 4 semesters. The number of credits to be earned is 120 for the 100% major and 20 for the 25% minor.
