Studium Bachelor
The Bachelor's degree program in Sociology has been in existence since the 2006/2007 winter semester and is a consecutive full-time program with a standard duration of 6 semesters. The number of credits to be earned is 180 for a 100% major and 35 for a 25% minor.
The Bachelor's program in Sociology provides a theoretically and empirically sound education. It aims to teach students the theoretical and methodological basics of the subject, taking into account the requirements and changes in the professional world, and to enable them to engage in scientific work and critical analysis of social conditions and related governmental and non-governmental measures.
The program focuses on the examination of the structural conditions of institutional configurations such as ‘state’, ‘market’ and ‘civil society’ and their impact on the actions of individuals. The bachelor's program is designed to lead students to a first professionally qualifying degree. Graduates will be able to independently solve problems in their chosen professional field while at the same time fulfilling their social responsibilities in the respective institutional configurations of ‘state’, ‘market’ and ‘civil society’.
The B.A. program is accredited under the heiQUALITY quality management system.
